Verdict in Auraiya's double murder case came after 6 years, life imprisonment to 10 people including former MLC Kamlesh Pathak

Auraiya: After six years, the special MP-MLA court on Wednesday convicted 10 accused including former MLC Kamlesh Pathak in the famous double murder case of Auraiya, Uttar Pradesh. The court has sentenced all the culprits to life imprisonment and also imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 each. After the verdict, security was increased in the court premises.

This matter is of 15 March 2020. There was firing in broad daylight in the Panchmukhi Hanuman Temple complex located in Narayanpur of Auraiya city. In this incident, advocate Manjul Chaubey and his cousin sister Sudha died due to bullet injuries. There was sensation in the area after the incident. Apart from murder, cases related to murderous attack on police and Arms Act were also registered in the case. The police had arrested many accused including former MLC Kamlesh Pathak and sent them to jail. Since then, this case has been included in the most talked about criminal cases of Auraiya.

Court hearing lasted for six years

The hearing of the double murder and related cases continued for a long time in the special MP-MLA court. The prosecution presented 32 witnesses in the court to prove its point. At the same time, statements of 39 witnesses were taken from the defense side in clarification. A minor accused was also involved in the case. His case has been sent to the Juvenile Justice Board, where his hearing is going on separately.

6 accused acquitted in fatal attack case

Apart from the conviction in the double murder case, the court acquitted six accused in the murder case registered by the police. These include Satyendra Mishra alias Dabbu, Rajendra Kumar Bajpai, Ramchandra Mishra, Alok Chaturvedi, Shubham Dubey and Hargovind alias Guddu. Ravi Chaturvedi, accused in this case, died during the hearing. In view of the verdict, tight security arrangements were already made in the court premises. After the news of former MLC getting life imprisonment, there was silence among his supporters also.
