New Delhi: Following unseasonal rains, the heat has once again begun to make people sweat across various parts of the country—including Delhi-NCR—leading to considerable discomfort. With temperatures rising in several states, stepping out into the scorching sun has become an arduous task.

Weather conditions in certain parts of the country may take a turn for the worse, with forecasts predicting rain accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds. In Himachal Pradesh, however, the rains have now receded, and the weather remains clear. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast indicating the possibility of rain accompanied by thunderstorms in various regions across the nation.
Regional Rainfall Warnings
The IMD has flagged several regions for thunderstorms and lightning over the next 3 to 4 days: :
- Northeast India: Moderate rain and lightning in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya.
- East India: Rainfall alerts for Sikkim and West Bengal.
- South India: Scattered rain and strong winds are likely in Kerala, Karnataka, and Telangana.
Possibility of Thunderstorms and Rain in These States
The Meteorological Department has issued a warning for moderate to heavy rainfall across several states over the next 3 to 4 days. In Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya, there is a likelihood of moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning over the coming 3 to 4 days. Additionally, Sikkim and West Bengal also face a possibility of moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning.
Bihar may also experience light to moderate rainfall after the 23rd. Winds here could blow at speeds ranging from 50 to 60 kilometers per hour. In Kerala, Karnataka, and Telangana, there is a possibility of scattered rainfall accompanied by lightning strikes and strong winds. Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Ladakh face a likelihood of snowfall and rain between April 23 and April 25; the weather situation is expected to become volatile due to the activation of a new Western Disturbance.

Delhi’s Weather
According to the IMD, temperatures in Delhi are expected to rise starting tomorrow. Currently, there is no possibility of rain in the region. The minimum temperature is also expected to reach up to 23 degrees Celsius. Furthermore, according to the IMD, temperatures are expected to rise even further in the coming days.
Weather Update for UP
Besides Delhi, temperatures are also expected to rise in Uttar Pradesh. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for heatwave conditions—characterized by scorching hot winds—in several districts starting tomorrow. The IMD indicates that temperatures are likely to remain above normal in several cities, including Agra, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Sultanpur, Barabanki, Bahraich, Shahjahanpur, and Hardoi.
Weather Forecast for Bihar
The IMD forecasts the likelihood of intense sunshine across Bihar. It is expected that on April 21, most districts will experience sunny conditions and a rise in temperature. However, a change in weather patterns is anticipated in the state starting April 23. The IMD has predicted the possibility of thunderstorms and rainfall in Bihar on April 23. For the next two days, however, the heat is expected to persist and cause discomfort.
