‘Why leg piece was not given’, ruckus in marriage procession in Gorakhpur, one youth died; many injured
In Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, there was an uproar in a marriage procession when a leg piece of chicken was not available. A young man lost his life and several other guests were injured in the violent clash. On the basis of CCTV footage, police have arrested seven accused.
According to the police, the incident took place at a marriage hall in Shahpur police station area on Friday night. The first dispute occurred over the song being played by the DJ. Later it reached food. There was chaos in the marriage hall after a fight between the bride and groom’s side. The guests saved their lives by running here and there.

According to the police, the marriage ceremony of the daughter of a Municipal Corporation employee was going on in a marriage hall in Shahpur police station area. There was a dispute between the wedding guests and the bride’s side when the song was played on the first DJ. But later, while eating, a person alleged that he did not get the chicken leg piece. On this he asked why leg piece was not given? The argument that started over small matters turned into a fight.

The bride and groom’s side started attacking each other. Someone rained belts and someone rained sticks. There were also attacks with stone pelting and swords. Within no time there was chaos in the marriage hall. The guests saved their lives by running here and there.
According to the police, Sumit (25), a resident of Awas Vikas Colony, Shahpur, suffered serious injuries in the fight. He was taken to the hospital. Where he lost his life during treatment. Another youth has also been seriously injured. His name is said to be Nepali.

The young man got married three months ago
Police have registered a case on the complaint of Sumit’s family. Seven people have been arrested so far. Family members told that Sumit used to run a mobile phone shop. He got married only three months ago. Superintendent of Police (City) Nimish Patil said that no injury marks were found on the body. The body has been sent for post-mortem.
