Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has launched its all-new ‘Made-in-India’ big-single motorcycle in the Indian two-wheeler market. Honda CB500 The curtain has officially been lifted from above. Along with this major unveiling, the company has updated all three bikes in its popular CB350 range, the CB350, CB350RS and CB350C, with new dark-themed graphics and fresh colors for 2026. While the CB350 series has enhanced its aesthetics to keep it fresh in the competition, it is the new 501cc platform that has caught the real interest and attention.

New Honda CB500 engine and technical specifications
The highlight of the new CB500’s design is its all-new 501cc, single-cylinder, air/oil-cooled engine, mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The engine produces 28.1 PS of power and a whopping 43.3 Nm of peak torque, making it Honda’s largest air-cooled single-cylinder bike in India. Although it has a classic air-cooled design, there is no compromise on technology; The bike comes with modern features like slipper clutch, Honda Selectable Torque Control, semi-digital console and Honda RoadSync connectivity. Honda will be offering the bike in three variants – a standard variant with alloy wheels, a cross-spoke wheel variant and a top-spectrum cross-spoke wheel variant with premium graphics.

Direct competition with Royal Enfield
The new CB500 is designed to directly compete with Royal Enfield’s mid-size classic segment. It appears that the main objective is to attract fans of the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and the old popular Classic 500 in particular. The bike’s powerful torque of 43.3 Nm delivers excellent power even at low rpm, giving riders the real thump and comfortable driving experience of a ‘big single’ without the added burden or heat of a 650cc twin-cylinder engine. Most importantly, since Honda manufactures this bike in India, it can attract customers from both the 350cc and 650cc segments of Royal Enfield with better finishing, better fuel efficiency and cost-effective maintenance.
