Big mistake at PM Modi's event venue? 2 suspects detained with fake PMO card and gun

Tezzbuzz Desk – Before Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Mumbai, security agencies have detained two suspects from the venue. According to Mumbai Police, one of the arrested people had identified himself as an official of the Prime Minister's Office (PMO). Fake identity card of PMO has been recovered from him. At the same time, the other person present with him identified himself as a bodyguard and a gun was found with him.

The police detained both of them after their activities were found suspicious during the security check. The main suspect has been identified as Rohan Parekh, 24. The police are now interrogating both of them and trying to find out for what purpose they had reached the venue. The investigation of the case has been handed over to Mumbai Crime Branch.

Actually, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to inaugurate the seventh edition of Global Fintech Fest (GFF) 2026 in Mumbai on Tuesday. The event is scheduled for around 5:45 pm. Focusing on financial technology, this conference is considered a major event in the fintech sector globally.

Attempt to enter the venue with fake identity card

According to the police, the main suspect tried to enter the venue by posing as a PMO official. The police became suspicious while checking the identity card with him. After this, when the person present with him was searched, a gun was recovered from him.

After the entire incident, security arrangements have been further tightened. The crime branch is trying to find out what is the relationship between the two suspects and where did they get the fake identity cards and weapons.

What is Global Fintech Fest 2026?

Global Fintech Fest 2026 is being organized to discuss the changes taking place in the field of financial technology and digital finance. These sections are a total of 326 kilometers long and their construction has cost more than Rs 20,700 crore.
