Ranchi: BJP has filed a written complaint with the Cyber Police against Prime Minister Narendra Modi for posting alleged objectionable content on Instagram. The party's state spokesperson अजय साह demanded filing of FIR against the Instagram account related to the allegation, impartial investigation and preservation of digital evidence related to the case.
According to the complaint, an Instagram account named ऋषिक एश चौहान has posted a picture of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, where he is seen wearing a garland. BJP's allegation, words related to last resort have been used in that post.
In the written complaint, BJP demanded to take legal action against the concerned account. It has been said from the party's side that there is anger among party workers and common people regarding such content.
State spokesperson Arjun Shah demanded immediate filing of FIR in the case with Cyber Police. The statement, the veracity of the post, the motive behind it and the identity of the person or account promoting it should be impartially investigated.
He has also requested the police to preserve all the digital evidence related to the case, so that no information is lost or altered during the investigation.
BJP has submitted a demand to the police to preserve various digital information related to Instagram account. These include IP logs, login history, device details, associated mobile numbers, emails, metadata and other electronic evidence.
The party's claim is to identify the identity of the person concerned by examining the available digital evidence and to take legal action as per the applicable law.
At the time of filing the complaint, BJP workers मुदित चंदल, बिश्व जीठ सिंह, राज किशोर साहू, महेश महातो, आमन कुमर and सुमीत साहू along with अजय सहेर were present at the cyber police station.
According to the statement of Ranchi Cyber Police, the complaint has been accepted and it will be verified for now. Police claims that the next step will be decided after examining the application.
Police termed the matter as sensitive and said to start the investigation process. The veracity of the claims made in the complaint will be confirmed only after investigation.
