Chhattisgarh News: Chhattisgarh has achieved a significant breakthrough in wildlife conservation. A rare pangolin was successfully rescued in Kunjantola village, Mohla tehsil, Mohla-Manpur-Ambagadh Chowki district. Following Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap’s initiative and in line with wildlife conservation, the Forest Department acted swiftly and released this protected animal safely into the wild.
On Sunday, the Forest Department received information about a pangolin entering the home of Jayant Kumar, a resident of Kunjantola village. Upon receiving the information, the department’s team arrived at the scene without delay and began the rescue operation with utmost care. The Forest Department’s vigilance and timely action ensured the survival of this rare animal.
Trained team carried out rescue operations
Under the guidance of the Divisional Forest Officer, the rescue operation was led by Range Officer Mr. Pankaj Patel. The team, with utmost vigilance, safely captured the pangolin and later released it into the reserve forest area. Deputy Rangers Mr. Mahendra Baghel and Mr. Shobhit Ram Yadav also played an important role in this operation.
This operation exemplified the Forest Department’s trained team, excellent coordination, and sensitive approach to wildlife conservation. Timely information and prompt action by officials ensured the safe rescue of a rare and protected wild animal.

The Forest Department has appealed to the public not to harm any wildlife they see in any area. Pangolin is a highly protected wildlife
The pangolin is one of the country’s most rare and protected wildlife. It is listed in Schedule I of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972 , providing it with the highest legal protection. The state government is particularly committed to the conservation of this species.
