The work of modernization and expansion of Harij-Biliya-Becharaji Road under Taluka to Taluka Scheme by the Road and Building (State) Department in Patan district is progressing at a fast pace. The government has given administrative approval of Rs. 3,370.00 lakh (Rs. 33.70 crore) for this ambitious project on 03/06/2025. Under this project, a total of 11.800 km of road from km. 2/200 to 14/000 will be widened from the existing 7.00 meter width to 10.00 meter. In addition, road strengthening, road furnishing, construction of protection walls, widening of various structures and improvement of curvature at necessary places are being carried out.
For this work, the Road and Building Department has awarded a work order to Perfect Infracorp Pvt. Ltd., Mehsana on 25/02/2026. Currently, the work of WMM (Wet Mix Macadam) is in progress on the entire 11,800 km road. The project is scheduled to be completed by 24/02/2027 as per the deadline. After the completion of this road development project, a more convenient and safe road system will be available to the citizens of Harij, Billia, Bechraji and surrounding areas. The possibility of accidents will be reduced by making the road wider and stronger, traffic will become easier and both travel time and fuel will be saved. Apart from this, the improvement in road facilities will give a new impetus to trade and commerce, the connection between rural and urban areas will be strengthened and employment opportunities will also increase at the local level. This work undertaken by the state government to further strengthen road infrastructure will give a new direction to the overall development of the entire area.
