Delhi: South Africa made a great start by defeating Namibia by 99 runs under the Duckworth-Lewis rule in the first match of the three-match ODI series. In the match played in Windhoek, South Africa, batting first, scored 348 runs for 8 wickets in 50 overs. In response, Namibia's team was able to score 162/8.
The biggest hero of South Africa's victory was 24-year-old left-handed batsman Jordan Harman, who created history by playing a brilliant inning of 150 runs in his debut ODI.

Harman created a storm in the debut match
South Africa, who came to bat first after losing the toss, had a slow start. Connor Esterhuizen was out after scoring 13 runs in the 7th over, after which Jordan Harman took over the innings with Tony DeGeorge.
Harman got a lease of life on his personal score of 30 runs. Namibia had a chance to run him out, but despite the direct hit, the umpire gave him not out. There was no DRS facility in the match, so Namibia could not challenge this decision.

After the century, Harman became more aggressive. He played a stormy inning of 150 runs in 126 balls with the help of 17 fours and 3 sixes. During this, he also made a big partnership of 190 runs with Tony De Georgi for the second wicket. D Georgi scored 72 runs.
Brewis and Bosch also showed their hands
After De Georgi's dismissal, Dewald Brevis made his intentions clear by hitting a six on the second ball as soon as he came to the crease. He played a quick inning of 33 runs.
After this, Corbin Bosch scored quickly in the lower order. Bosch played an unbeaten inning of 39 runs in 24 balls. Thanks to these innings, South Africa scored a huge score of 348 runs after losing 8 wickets in the stipulated 50 overs. Ruben Trumpelman was the most successful bowler for Namibia, taking 3 wickets.
Rain changed the equation of the match
Namibia, which set out to chase the target of 349 runs, did not have a good start. The South African bowlers maintained constant pressure and did not give the Namibian batsmen a chance to play freely.
In the 22nd over, Namibia's score was 73 runs for 3 wickets, when the game had to be stopped due to rain. After a long wait, Namibia got the target of 301 runs in 38 overs under DLS rules.
